You’ve had your MFP for some time now and use it regularly for a variety of key office duties including scanning documents into a digital format. Has a situation ever come up where this key component just stops working one day? If so, check out the following tip.
9 times out of 10 if the scanning function stops creating digital files of your paper documents it can be attributed to ‘authentication’. Your computer or server requires the MFP/Copier to provide an ID similar to when you login to your PC. This is a basic form of security in the world of computers.
Have your IT administrator check which user and password was used for the MFP at time of install. Many administrators sometime use the ‘administrator’ account of the network and sometimes change this password without adjusting the password on the MFP.
